I was pulled over on the way to class this morning. He nabbed me for doing 38 in a 30. $80 and a point. He also wrote me a warning for not having my front tag on the front of my car. F

38 in a 30? Must be a city cop.

And that was just a bill that died in committee.

At least the MD Senate is doing important stuff this year like outlawing grain alcohol, since it is odorless and undetectable. /s

What were you driving, and does it have means of securing the plate to the front? But that does suck.

Eh, could be worse, take it as a lesson - 38 in a 30 zone is 25% over the limit, equivalent to doing about 90 in a 70 zone. Unless it's a completely ludicrous limit for the road in question, you probably were going a little bit fast. You wouldn't need to be going much faster before it's throw-the-book-at-you time.

I'll just assume this was Anne Arundel County, since those fuckers love pulling people over.

Don't pay the ticket. Get your court date and go to court. Explain to the judge that this is the first ticket (or what have you) and request the point be removed from you license but you are willing to pay court costs and the fine. Alternatively, if this is your first ticket in MD (doesn't matter how long, the judge sees everything) you can also request a probation before judgement (PBJ). Pay court costs and keep your nose clean for a year and the ticket goes away.
